Things work out best for those who make the best of how things work out. ~John Wooden | 23:38 ET
reasons to not kill yourself

  • pain isn't permanent
  • people care about you
  • people need you
  • you should be apart of the future
  • people don't think you're a burden
  • you can help others
  • you can make others happy
  • there are many pleasures you are yet to experience
  • it's 2025, someone will make a joke about your death
  • your brain is lying to you
  • there are more things to learn
  • you have to be there for the half life 3 drop
  • you have to be there for the grand theft auto 6 drop
  • your pets need you
  • there was a ~1 in 400 quadrillion chance of you being born the way you were, it was probably for a reason
  • you haven't met the love of your life yet
  • the world is full of beauty you haven't yet seen
  • you can be the person you needed for other people
  • if you kill yourself, you can't change your mind
  • stay alive out of spite for the people who have wronged you

big things happening

i'm planning on building a NAS for my homelab, i have a very low depth cabinet (350mm) which makes most commercial options impossible. the case i will be using is a PlinkUSA/Rackbuy ITX-G2250 because it uses only 250mm of depth. i wanted to use arm or RISC-V instead of x86 for the board for better thermals, so i will be using a Radxa ROCK 5 ITX+. i will put 2 drive bays for 2.5" SSDs in the 2 5.25" bays on the case.

i will post pictures after i order everything and build it!

i am a rubber ducky

in almost every interaction i have, i feel like a placeholder. people talk to me because they are obligated to, or because they need a blank space to dump their own thoughts and problems onto. i’ve realized that in 95% of my daily conversations, i could be replaced by a rubber duck and the other person wouldn't even blink. they aren't talking to me, they are just talking.

new blog

i’ve thought about starting this for a long time, but i keep waiting for a "big" moment to document. today isn't big. it’s actually pretty quiet, but i figured if i don’t start now, i never will. this isn't really a blog as much as it is publicly accessible notes, so do not expect anything interesting.

i've been struggling with the fact that every time i've tried to make a blog i haven't maintained it properly: if i only write when things are "interesting," i’ll end up with a very short blog and a lot of forgotten days in between.
